New Home Selection:

 Congratulations! This is the start of your journey with QHB. Let’s look at the best site options and start thinking about styling your dream home. Your first meeting is with one of our experienced Sales Consultants to complete a walkthrough, review inclusions and complete a preliminary siting and quote. You will then need to provide your Contract of Sale of land including a clear copy of your Plan of Subdivision, as well as proof of land ownership and funding details for construction. This is a great way for us to understand your home requirements and whether the budget you have in mind can be met based on our discussion.


Colour Selection:

 Colour selection is one of the most exciting steps, where you will get to choose the styling of your home, both inside and out. Our Colour studio  is a showroom based at our head office where you work alongside your professional design consultant to choose the final products, colours, finishes, lighting and electrical for your new home. Your Sales Executive will contact you to book a colour selection and tender meeting.


Tender & Contract:

 This is when we prepare your tender to build, based on your sales quote, soil, survey and preliminary engineering (where applicable). We prepare the contract and drawings, order the six-star energy assessment and provide you with a HIA plain English contract to review and sign at an appointment. It’s important to note that no further changes will be accepted after this point.



 7 days prior to starting on your new home we will contact you. Once deposit is paid, we will commence work.

Clearing of the site:

Depending on the nature of the land, there may be soil testing, site levelling and clearing undertaken prior to actual construction.

The slab or base stage

As the name suggests, this is simply the foundation of the property. It includes measuring out the design on the site, pouring the footings, under slab drainage, moisture barrier and special mesh for termite protection.

Frame stage

This includes the installation of your internal and external support structure, along with walls, conduit for electrical and plumbing, the roof frame and sheeting, gutters and insulation.

Lockup stage

It’s at this point where you can literally start “locking up” the property because your windows, doors and remaining walls will be installed.

It’s also safe for plumbers, electricians, cabinet makers and other tradesman to begin fitting out the property.

Fit-out or fixing stage

This includes the installation of plumbing, electrical (including lights and power points) and other fixtures and fittings.

The design features that make the property a home will also be added such as cornices, tiling, cabinets and shelving, reveals and architraves.

Practical completion stage

This is basically where all painting, installations and detailing have been completed and you’re effectively ready to move in.
